2048 Game

2048 is the classic sliding number puzzle. Every move slides all the tiles on a 4×4 board in one direction, and two tiles with the same number merge into their sum. Keep merging — 2s into 4s, 4s into 8s — until you build a 2048 tile. Reaching 2048 wins the game, but you can keep going for a higher score. Play with the arrow keys, WASD or the on-screen buttons. Your best score is saved in your browser.

1. Slide the tiles up, down, left or right.
2. Two tiles with the same number that collide merge into one tile worth their sum.
3. After every move, a new 2 (or occasionally a 4) appears in an empty square.
4. Make a 2048 tile to win — then keep going if you like.
5. The game ends when the board is full and no merges are left.

Can I keep playing after reaching 2048?

Yes. Choose Keep going on the win screen and carry on chasing a bigger tile and a higher score.

What's a good 2048 strategy?

Keep your biggest tile in one corner and build along the edge next to it. Avoid the one direction that would pull that tile out of its corner.
